Louët Electric Drum Carder Standard 230 V

The electric drum carder lends itself to effortless, two hand feeding. It comes complete with transparent plastic protection cover for safety, doffer brush, doffer pin and carding booklet. The electric drum carder sits on rubber feet, due to the weight of the carder, it does not need to be fastened to a table. In the event of overheating, the motor switches off automatically. The Drum Carder has an on off switch. To be able to use the switch, you have to slide the security cover over the drums. If you then slide the cover back to remove the fleece from the roller, the switch is covered again, preventing the motor's operation.

The frame of the carder is made of water resistant sealed birch plywood with a white HPL outer coating. The Carder is delivered fully assembled. The carder is delivered with an instruction manual, user guide written by Deb Menz, doffer brush, and an extra long doffer pin.

In carders, as a rule, the acceleration between the rollers is stated. For the this carder it is 4:1. However, more important for the effectiveness of the carder is the difference in surface speed between the large and the small roller. To calculate this, multiply the acceleration by the ratio of the diameters of the two rollers. For the Electric drum carder, this speed ratio is 9:1.
